2009 Sudoku Nationals Results

We can announce that the winner of the U.S Sudoku Championship was Tammy McLeod of Los Angeles, California. Mc Leod solved the advanced puzzle in a time of 7 mintues and 41 seconds and took home the cash prize of $10,000. As the winner of the tournament she also earned a spot in the U.S World Sudoku Team.

Winner in the beginner divsion was Natan Tsyrulnik of Shelton, Connecticut, and took home $1,000. Davis Borucki of Columbia, South Carolina, took the first spot in the intermediate division was also a happy winner to the $3,000 awarded.

2009 Sudoku National Championship

Philadelphia_skylineIt is time again for the 2009 Sudoku National Championships. It will take place Oct. 24 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This is the largest Sudoku competition in the U.S. Hosting the event for the third time is the Philadelphia Inquirer.

$25,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, as well as the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2010 World Sudoku Championship in Philadelphia.

Cash prizes are broken down accordingly:

Top winner of each level will receive an iPod Touch, courtesy of Hudson Entertainment!

Advanced

  • First place – $10,000
  • Second place – $4,000
  • Third place – $3,000

Intermediate

  • First place – $3,000
  • Second place – $2,000
  • Third place – $1,500

Beginner

  • First place – $1,000
  • Second place – $500
  • Third place – $300
