You have to rate a player on the difficulty level and the speed.
In chess you rate players, but don´t you have a blitz rating an a regular rating?

I know you can rate the puzzles themselves. But even the ratings of the puzzles is not universally agreed upon.

It would seem that there were two parts to a players ratings, 1) the difficulty of the puzzles they can solve and 2) the speed with which they can solve the puzzles.

In chess part of the fun of playing is when you try and improve your rating. Having a system to rate players might increase the popularity among serious Sudoku players.
